Brogården is an operation within Uppsala Municipality that conducts investigations on behalf of social services and targets families with children aged 0-12 years. Common to most families coming to Brogården is that they are in a difficult social situation, where deficiencies in parental care abilities have created concerns for the children's care and development. The goal of all our work is to focus on the children's safety and development, as well as the development potential in the parent-child relationship. Overall, our work with children and their parents should be carried out as predictably, safely, and legally as possible.

Job Description

As a treatment assistant, you are responsible for the practical and environmental therapeutic work at the institution. You are part of a team that works based on the assignment agreed upon with the municipality's social services and the family. The assignment means that you are responsible for the practical planning and execution towards the families, for which methods/tools should be used to fulfill the assignment and to be department responsible, as well as being responsible for the physical environment. It also includes documenting interventions and activities in the relevant record-keeping system, supporting and motivating families with daily tasks and leisure activities, contributing to safety, and building relationships and providing support with a strong focus on behavioral change.

We often have the privilege of working with the entire family, which requires us to work from many different perspectives and handle complex issues. At Brogården, teamwork is important, and we closely collaborate around the families to achieve the best results. You and your team work based on a process-oriented approach to investigate and assess parental care abilities and children's needs, as well as support parents in their parenting. Our assignments may also involve receiving families in acute crisis situations.

The position includes scheduled evening and weekend work year-round.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a higher education such as a social worker, behavioral scientist, or similar. To succeed in this role, you need to have experience in investigations and/or treatment work with children aged 0-12 years and their parents. The work requires you to have good oral and written skills in Swedish. Having a B driver's license is also a requirement for the position.

If you have experience working in an institution, it is considered an advantage.

As a person, you adapt easily to changing conditions and see opportunities in change. You remain calm and composed in pressured situations. The job suits you if you are good at creating new contacts and maintaining and developing relationships. Last but not least, we are looking for someone who has a good ability to understand others' perspectives and comprehend their situations.
